Prep time: Approximately 5 minutes.
Cook time: Approximately 15 minutes.
Total Time: Approximately 20 minutes.
Ingredients:
6 Slices of brioche bread
2 eggs
¼ teaspoon of nutmeg (optional)
¼ teaspoon of cinnamon (optional)
2/3 cup of heavy whipping cream (you can also use regular milk or non dairy milk)
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 to 2 tablespoons of butter for cooking (or coconut oil)
Toppings (optional):
¼ cup of fresh blueberries
¼ cup of fresh strawberries sliced
Whip cream
Powder (Confectioners) Sugar
Maple Syrup (Use any syrup or sweetener of your choice)
Directions:
Step 1: In a bowl add your eggs, heavy whipping cream (can be replaced with regular milk or non-dairy milk), nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
Step 2: Whisk together the ingredients in your bowl.
Step 3: Heat a skillet over medium heat.
Step 4: Add 1-2 tablespoons of butter.
Step 5: Dip your brioche bread in the bowl with your egg mixture letting it absorb the liquid. Do this for both sides of the bread.
Step 6: Place the bread onto the skillet and cook for approximately 3-4 minutes per side or until golden brown; for thicker bread that may absorb more of the egg mixture cook a little bit longer. Also, depending on how long you soak your bread in the egg mixture it might take longer to cook.
Step 7: Once both sides of the bread is cooked remove it from the skillet and add it to a plate.
Step 8: Repeat steps 4 through 7 until there is no bread left.
Step 9: Add any toppings to your French Toast and enjoy it.
